Not Enough Seagulls

Dog of the Day : Not enough Seagulls : This little dog came on to 'our' beach at a hundred miles an hour...and proceeded to chase every seagull he could find..all day ...it was exhausting ...just watching...his owners tried to catch him but he was having none of it....he was there to chase seagulls off the beach and that was his job for the day...he was still there when we left...almost last people on the beach.....I bet he slept for a few days after that performance...

Keeping the Sea at Bay

Keeping the sea at Bay : The tide was coming in at a pace at the end of the day and people were getting wet...moving there clothes and surf-boards up the beach away from the in coming tide but not these two...they were determined to stay where they were...and started to build a barrier of sand to keep the sea at bay...they were looking at their watches and adding to the barrier...then the tide stopped coming in and started to ebb ...they had a tide times booklet and were seeing if it worked... it did! they were still there when we left. feeling like King Canute i shouldn't wonder.

Interior of the Day : Inside The Yellow Cottage : We stayed here for a windy week in Cornwall. the interior was all white and grey…and as the shadows deepened the greys got greyer and with the sun shining there contrast of the greys grew more interesting..

Trebarwith Strand : This is the view from a window in the cottage we were staying in in Cornwall.A very windy day... glad I was inside painting. Th sea changed colour every minute and it was difficult to capture each moment...the sun was just coming up and catching the waves..

Port William

Pub of the Day : Port William : This pub nestles in Trebarwith Strand in North Cornwall UK …we have just spent a windy week there..great to go to the pub in the evenings sit on the cliff with a pint of Cornish beer and watch the sun go down...trying to get around sorting out the sunsets and new paintings...

Misty Fishing

Misty Fishing : A new painting of another quiet place…a misty morning and some guys are going fishing> The sun will be up by the time they get to their favourite spot…and they can fish all day…hoped they packed the beers.

A Walk on the Rocks

Wave of the Day : A Walk on the Rocks : A holiday temptation to walk as near as you can to the waves…not always wise...we got stuck a couple of times...just got back before the tide got us...some people with us not so lucky...a lot of wet pants and t-shirts and shoes hanging around the cottage ...don't do this at home kids....

Moo of the Day : Cow Cooling : Cows on a beach…unusual sight...but every one likes a beach so why shouldn't cows.....cows get hot like humans..and what do humans do when they get hot?...run to the beach....this cow must have been watching .....

quite a lot of wind and rough seas…just what the surfers like....while my family surfed I sat on the breach and painted them...here is the first of many....hope you like em....

Beach Path

Seascape of the Day : Beach Path : Another holiday snap that became a painting…a favourite walk to a favourite beach...plenty of sand...but again great if sunny but not so good in the rain and again no shelter for miles...so a double soaking of the day...dogs first to be dried I noticed...children next and adults last...then a hot tea....well worth it...

Grunt of the Day : Buffalo Pause : Eating the grass of the plains of America this buffalo suddenly pauses for a moment...what is he thinking?.. why would he pause so strangely?...was he thinking about the worlds problems? The meaning of life?…he looks as if he is....but probably just waiting for the last mouthful of grass to go down.....

Flowers for Mom

Trunk of the Day : Flowers for Mom : I was lost...couldn't keep up...Mom found me.. ( I knew she would )…and took me back to the herd...so I picked her some flowers....

Time for a Rest

Trunk of the Day : Time for a rest: I've been trying to keep up with the herd...but they keep moving on ...no stopping for a rest and some play....hope we get to a river soon..I could do with a drink...meanwhile I'll stop and have a break...Mom will come and get me.......I hope.

Puppy

Pup of the Day : Puppy : Ahh who doesn't like a puppy..they are such fun to play with and they look so good..so good to paint...wish I had one...this one was passing our house going on his first walk...and that's the point...they need daily walking...and as they get bigger you have to walk them further...don't think I'm up for that....I'll stick to daily painting..

Summer Headdress

Grunt of the Day : Summer Headdress : You sometimes see this when passing a field...a cow that has got it'd head stuck in some of the hedgerow and appears to have a headdress...this looks a little more thought out.....a celebration of Summer.
